KSB Wins Award
At the Keep Lousiana Beautiful State Conference in Baton Rouge, KSB's “Green Team Schools” program was selected as the "Most Innovative Program" by the KLB Awards Committee. The award also came with a $500 prize for KSB. Congratulations to everyone for a well deserved award.
Green Team Schools
With a $15,000 grant from Keep Louisiana Beautiful, KSB and the Education Committee kicked off its new Green Team School Program with a slogan contest. 14 schools submitted 43 slogans, and the winning slogan was submitted by three different schools. The slogan chosen was:
“Don’t Litter . . . Make Slidell Glitter”
Students from the three schools were recognized with certificates at a City Council meeting. Each Green Team School receives a KSB Banner with the new slogan.
Introducing “Glitter N. Slidell”
The design of a seven-year old student from Honey Island Elementary School was chosen to create a Mascot for KSB. The student was recently recognized for her design at a Council Meeting and “Glitter” was unveiled to the public.
Glitter is in high demand and will soon be visiting all of the Green Team Schools and making appearances at KSB events.
To schedule Glitter to visit your school - call KSB at 646-4307.
